This report is the first systematic assessment of the current legal and institutional framework and the capacity of the Bulgarian institutions to implement investment screening in line with best international standards. It follows the state-of-the-art methodology of the CELIS Institute, the leading forum for studying and debating investment screening. The report provides an initial scoping of the opportunities for developing investment screening in Bulgaria, including the collection of data on legislation, case-law, best practices, strategies, and other relevant documents that directly and indirectly affect investment screening.
