Intern

Еlitsa Tsvetanova

B.A. International Relations and Global Politics, American University in Rome

Period of internship: Jan 20 - Jun 30, 2025

Over the last 6 months, I had the pleasure of being an intern at the CSD Law Program. The first five months of my internship were conducted online, during which we had weekly meetings where the team explained everything in detail and the communication went as smoothly as in person. The last month of my internship I transitioned working on site which was the highlight of my experience at CSD, as I was able to meet fellow interns and collaborate with colleagues in person, which made my work even more rewarding.

At the Law Program of CSD, I was surprised by how engaging and varied my tasks were. I was entrusted with compelling and challenging projects that deepened my interest in the field. I also had the opportunity to assist with exciting events on gendered disinformation and trafficking of children prevention, and even be part of work meetings and discussions. My work also focused on being part of different projects such REFRAIME, which focused on analysing the legal implications of AI and conducting in-depth research on EU legal frameworks and policies. Additionally, I worked on the FAIR-PReSONS initiative, in which I had the role of conducting analysis on judicial bias in decision-making. Overall, the combination of diverse projects, engaging events, and the collaborative environment within the team made my internship at CSD an incredibly enriching experience, which I would completely recommend to anyone interested in this field.
