My internship at the Center for the Study of Democracy within the Law program was an undeniably enriching experience. The opportunity to contribute to significant projects such as identifying best practices for criminal justice reform, exploring the intersection of fundamental rights and AI, and advocating for media freedom was truly inspiring. Being able to apply theoretical legal knowledge to real-world challenges was invaluable. As a Sri Lankan, my 6-month internship with CSD offered a unique perspective on how international law is implemented within the European Union. This comparative analysis significantly broadened my understanding of global legal frameworks which is crucial for the career I wish to pursue. 

I was particularly impressed by the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere at CSD. Despite working remotely, I felt fully integrated into the team. My input was valued, and I had the privilege of collaborating closely with exceptional professionals such as Maria Stoyanova, whose guidance was instrumental to my growth. I wholeheartedly recommend CSD as a platform for both learning and career advancement. The Center offers a stimulating environment where individuals can explore diverse areas of law and contribute to meaningful work.
