Joshua Babatunde
B. A. International Relations and Management, OTH Regensburg, Germany
During the six months at CSD I gained valuable insights in the work and structure of a think tank. Under the supervision of Vanya Petrova, I was given a variety of tasks throughout my internship. I supported Vanya by conducting research on diverse topics, like Illicit Financial Flows and Beyond GDP. Moreover, I was reviewing literature, gathering background data, helped with the finalization of papers and created a list with the contact details of experts on a specific topic and multiple other tasks. I had a lot of autonomy in how exactly I conducted my work. However, if I had questions about the tasks, Vanya would gladly explain to me in detail what she expected of me. This internship is a good complement to my studies. I have improved my academic writing skills and have also been able to put into practice some aspects of the economic/political theories you learn at university. Through my daily involvement with politics and economics in South-eastern Europe, I have learned a lot about this region of Europe.
I can recommend doing an internship at CSD to anyone who is interested in this field!
