Camille Dagand
M.A. in International and European Law, University Côte d'Azur - Nice
My 2023 summer internship experience at the Center for the Study of Democracy has officially come to an end. I was lucky to join the Law Program, in which I was able to contribute to several exciting projects (SHE, NICE, Investment Screening in Bulgaria, etc.) More particularly, I was able to take part in writing a blog post regarding the fight against domestic violence in the workplace, which enabled me not only to apply my knowledge, but also to acquire new one. Moreover, it was extremely interesting find out how this type of institution develops a project with different partners across Europe - from mapping best practices across EU and the world, to creating powerful trainings, conferences, or documents.
As an intern, I felt included and welcomed into the team, which is really important when you arrive in a new country that you know very little about for a full 3 months. I had the chance to travel inside and outside the Bulgarian borders, which was also very enriching and stimulating.
It was therefore a wonderful professional and human opportunity that allowed me to immerse myself in the world of a think-tank. Additionally, it made me realize that I want to channel my skills and passion into projects fostering a positive change across the world. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the team for your expertise, advice and support. I'd especially like to thank Maria Stoyanova and Iliana Boycheva who guided me throughout my internship. I'd also like to thank everyone at the CSD for all the opportunities and events we were lucky enough to take part in (conferences, workshops, outings, etc).
I strongly encourage anyone looking for this type of experience to submit their application to the CSD, and enjoy your stay to the fullest!
