During my remote internship at CSD’s Security Program, I had the opportunity to support current projects with research, to contribute to reports and literature reviews and to collect lists of experts for workshops and other activities in the context of the projects. Due to my interest in security issues and interdisciplinary research, it was immensely interesting to gain insight into the work of a think tank that works extensively with other international partners and completes projects on a wide range of European policy issues. A particularly valuable aspect of the internship was the possibility to gain a deeper understanding of all the different phases of a research project at the EU level. In the course of conducting research tasks in preparation of a new research project on cybercrime, I learned a lot about the topic of cybersecurity.
Although I completed the internship remotely due to the pandemic, I perceived a friendly work environment and thank the CSD staff for the opportunity to work with them, particularly Milena for the administrative support and Tommaso for the supervision and feedback during the internship. I look forward to applying the knowledge and experience gained by being part of CSD’s internship program to my further studies and professional development.
