Biography


Olga Matiushyna is a Senior Analyst at the Energy and Climate Program and the Geoeconomics Task Force of CSD’s Economic Program. She is involved in projects relating to the evolution of energy and climate security risks in Ukraine before and after the Russian invasion, the implementation of the EU energy and climate acquis in Moldova and gendered disinformation campaigns targeting Ukrainian women relocated to Bulgaria during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Olga has a technical background from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, on which she has built to develop strong analytical skills in energy security risks and technical regulations. She has participated in the Council of Europe Schools of Political Studies, the Winter School on Federalism and Governance at Innsbruck University in South Tyrol, the Tampere University's research platform for Climate Neutral Energy Systems and Society in Finland, and the SGH Doctoral Summer School of International business in Warsaw among others. She is currently taking a PhD related to the legal regulation of international cooperation of states combating climate change within the framework of the EU.
Formerly, Olga was a Senior Climate & Energy Expert at WWF Bulgaria, supporting advocacy for REPowerEU and the European Green Deal reforms, conducting comparative analyses of EU climate laws, including amendments and proposals to the Bulgarian Climate Law, and working on legal and regulatory aspects of reconstruction aid to Ukraine.
