Biography

Estefanía Meléndez is an Associate Fellow at the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD), a European public policy institute. A career diplomat, she has served as Venezuela’s Ambassador to Bulgaria and to several countries in the Western Balkans. She is currently a Special Advisor at the Center for Strategic Communications of the Government of Ukraine. Her work has focused on analyzing Russian influence in Latin America, with particular emphasis on Venezuela, as well as investigating networks of corruption, money laundering, and sanctions evasion linked to the Venezuelan regime. In addition, she is engaged in the development of tools for international conflict resolution and in promoting the role of women as mediators and drivers of sustainable solutions.
