Biography

Bozhidara Tsvetilova is an Analyst at the Law Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy. Her research interests encompass fundamental rights, domestic and gender-based violence, international law, welfare and security policy, environmental justice, and issues related to diversity and inclusion. With an academic background in Political Science, International Relations, and Conflict Studies, her expertise also includes strategic conflict resolution and negotiation, political behavior, civic mobilisation and resistance, armed conflict analysis, and social policy for development.

Prior to joining CSD, Bozhidara interned at the Human Rights Directorate of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where her work focused on foreign policy analysis, human trafficking, migration flows, international security, and diplomatic relations. She also served as Chair of the UN’s HeForShe Amsterdam Chapter, advocating for gender equality and intersectional solidarity. Her Master’s thesis provided a critical analysis of the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in Central and Eastern Europe.
