Biography

Alexander Politov is Analyst at the Sociological Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD). He has experience in research, policy analysis, project development and project implementation. He was a political analyst and Project Coordinator at the Institute for Regional and International Studies (2017 - 2022); Executive Director and member of the Managing Board of Reason Institute (2008 - 2018); Senior Research and Analysis Officer at Sofia Development Association (2010 - 2015); Program Coordinator and Coordinator of the Regional Program at the Bulgarian School of Politics (2003 – 2010). Alexander also worked at the Political Academy for Central and Southeastern Europe on the project “Political Programs and Platforms Issued in Bulgaria during the Transition Period: A Comparative Study” (2002 - 2003). In the period 1997 – 2002 he held consecutively the positions of Assistant at the International Department, International Secretary, and Internal Policy Secretary of the Union of Democratic Forces. He was also an Assistant at the office of the Minister of Justice and European Legal Integration (1997 – 1998). Dr. Politov is also a member of the Bulgarian Political Science Association.
